Tentative Plan for Enhancing Tourist Migration in the Wakamatsu North Coast Region
PICK UP Feature

The Wakamatsu North Coast region is adjacent to attractive tourist areas such as the lush green Green Park, Tonda Reservoir, Wakita Beach with its offshore wind power generation and sunset views, and the white sand Iwaya Beach, where marine sports are popular. Based on these characteristics, comprehensive efforts will be needed to organically link each of these tourist attractions and to increase the number of visitors to the area in order to promote the development of a vibrant region.
In addition, as attention focuses on “land-based tourism,” in which local people develop and promote travel products using local tourism resources, it is also important to create a “mechanism” that extends the time visitors stay in the area and spreads the economic benefits of tourism throughout the entire region. It is important for the people of the North Coast region to polish their local tourism resources to increase their attractiveness and promote locally-led stay-and-go tourism in order to realize a “profitable” region.
